FAQ
“Coworking is a perfect mix. There is productive time and social time. An opportunity to meet people for personal and professional collaboration. It’s fun, it’s productive…”
– Skippy, Photographer-
What is coworking?
Coworking is the social gathering of a group of people, who are still working independently, but who share values and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with talented people in a shared office space.
Is Cohere the only coworking space in the world?
Nope. Cohere is part of a global coworking community. Over 700 other coworking locations exist around the world. Find out more about the global coworking community on this website. You’ll find links to get involved worldwide via the wiki, blog and google group.
What types of people cowork?
Awesome people! Graphic designers, web developers, photographers, writers, social media & IT enthusiasts, micro-business owners, entrepreneurs, remote workers and anyone else who primarily uses the internet and a laptop to do work. Try out coworking at Cohere if you are a freelancer who works from home and you want to interact with others on diverse projects while being independently productive.
Am I a good fit for coworking?
Lots of different people love to cowork AND coworking isn’t for everyone. If you crave social interaction, love being around creative and helpful people who have great ideas and you can work remotely with a laptop and wifi, you should try us out! Your first visit to Cohere is always free and we understand that you might fall in love with us!
Do you have a conference room?
What are your hours?
We are a 24/7 operation. Members receive an access code that allows them to work day or night. Because of this, we aren’t staffed all the time. Please warn us if you want to drop in or get a tour.
What about people talking on the phone?
Cohere is about social interaction with one another while still being productive independently. If your job requires you to be on the phone most of the time, Cohere is not a good fit. Perhaps a part time membership would be the way to go. Be on the phone at home and wildly productive in other ways while at Cohere. We do have 2 small phone rooms to tuck away in if an important or long phone call comes in while you’re here.
Are memberships flexible and short term?
Yes and yep. Pick a plan that works for you and feel free to change it month to month. There are no long term contracts. You can even use up missed days in the same calendar month.
How do I pay?
You can choose between an automatic, recurring credit card payment or bill pay with your bank.
Do you have a printer/copier/scanner?
Yes and there is a small per page fee (for printing & copying) to use it. Scanning is free.
Where are you located?
Check out our Directions page for info on how to find us and where to park your car or bike.
What are the rules, really?
Cohere is a self regulating community of trustworthy and helpful people. 1) Don’t try to sell us anything 2) Don’t be a jackass 3) Pay your membership fees on time.
Where do I keep my stuff?
Neighbor members have their own desk and locking file cabinet. Other members bring in what they need for the day.
