2024 Spring Happenings in Fort Collins, CO

Early spring in Northern Colorado has always been a bit unpredictable, weather-wise. So far this March, we’ve had rain, snow, and bright sunny days. Unpredictable weather has never stopped Colorado inhabitants from gathering to celebrate, however.

Fort Collins, especially in and around Old Town, is no exception. Music, food, and art all have their springtime opportunities to take center stage; here are a few of our favorites:

Great Plates

Downtown Fort Collins
Various locations

Great Plates of Downtown, already underway for 2024, is an annual dining promotion and fundraiser benefitting both the Food Bank for Larimar County and your palate. Forty-eight members of the downtown dining community are offering delicious food and drink specials ranging from $45 a plate to less than $15 to help raise awareness and collect donations for the Food Bank. A listing of menu specials can be found on the Downtown Fort Collins website.

First and Third Fridays

First and Third Friday of each month
Downtown Fort Collins
Various Locations

Downtown Fort Collins hosts its First and Third Friday events throughout the year and the springtime is an especially wonderful time to enjoy these self-guided activities. On the first Friday of each month, local artists are showcased at participating businesses throughout Old Town, and creative activities are available for participants.

The third Friday of each month from 5 to 8 pm is dedicated to the artistry of food. Also known as the Foodie Walk, the thriving foodie scene is celebrated as Old Town’s culinary shops demonstrate seasonal flavors, unexpected taste experiences, and interactive showcases. Each month is a new and delightful experience!

Presented by the Fort Collins Musicians Association (FoCoMA) the FoCo MX has earned the unofficial title of “The Biggest Little Festival in America.” Hundreds of bands and musical artists play live on dozens of stages in and around the Downtown area each year. The variety of genres represented during the two-day music festival is vast and the venues diverse.  This vibrant celebration of music returns April 19th and 20th for 2024. Order your tickets here.

Evie, the Bookmobile

Old Town Square
April 3 @ 3 pm – 5 pm

Colorado’s first all-electric bookmobile, decorated in a style drawing inspiration from the mural painted by award-winning author and illustrator Rafael Lopez and participants of the IMAGINANTES program, is a welcome sight throughout Northern Colorado. She goes by the name of Evie and spends her time bringing literature, wi-fi, printing, and more to early learning centers, mobile home parks, senior centers, and rural schools. Library Giving Day is on April 3rd, and to celebrate, Evie will be parked in Old Town Square, bringing books and games as well as providing signups for library cards.

Earth Day

April 20 @11 am- 5 pm
Earth Day Civic Center Park

Sustainability is one of the five core values of coworking, so it should come as no surprise that Earth Day is on our list of favorites. This free event, held at Civic Center Park, is a great opportunity to learn more about protecting the planet, while engaging in fun, all-ages arts, crafts, and activities, perusing food trucks and a farmers market, and listening to live music. Although the event is free, a donation of a non-perishable food product for the Food Bank of Larimar County is recommended.

Taste of Fort Collins

Washington Park
June 8th and 9th
301 Maple Street

The Taste of Fort Collins, sponsored by FNBO, is so much more than a simple food festival. It is two days of unique flavors, distinctive local artists, and performances by renowned musicians—this year’s headliners are Grammy-nominated Hip Hop artist Rick Ross and quadruple platinum country and pop singer Andy Grammer. The launch party kicks off at 3:30 pm Friday afternoon, and single-day, weekend, and VIP passes are available now.
