New Year, New Faces, New Spaces

The world began to cautiously reopen in 2021, with the 2020 Summer Olympics finally commencing in July of this year and audiences returning to Broadway theaters in September. NFT’s boomed, with over two billion dollars spent in just the first quarter of 2021, an increase of 2,100% over the fourth quarter of 2020, El Salvador adopted Bitcoin as legal tender, and 90-year-old William Shatner became the oldest space traveler in history.

Members of the Cohere community have seen their share of ups and downs in 2021 as well, both personally and professionally. Together, we’ve supported each other through the challenges and celebrated each other’s wins. While this year has definitely been one of change here at Cohere, it has also been one of growth, with many new faces and a couple of new spaces.

New Faces

We had 50 new members join Cohere in 2021. That’s 50 new people to lift up or lean on, 50 new sources of information, and 50 new smiles to brighten our days. Our new members in 2021 include writers, tech gurus, life and career coaches, and a whole slew of genuinely nice people.

If you are looking for a few friendly faces to ease the pressure of the last few years while still getting massive amounts of work done, sign up for a tour today! We’d love to show you around the place!

Two members who joined in 2021, Alexis Yeager, founder of Yeager Copywriting, and Renee Becher, creator of The Crowded Bookshelf not only joined Cohere as members, but also became cultivators, assisting other members when they are needed. Another new Cohere member is experienced executive assistant Audra Faith Perry, founder of Audra Faith Business Services. She works with multiple Coherians, making their jobs and their lives easier.

New Spaces

Two new spaces opened up in Cohere during 2021—Cozy Quad Quarters (The Quad if you’re in a hurry) and Boomtown.

Cozy Quad Quarters/The Quad

Angel crafted a cozy four-person workspace in the basement area, where two individual offices used to be. She outfitted it with sit-stand desks that raise and lower at the touch of a button, each with two large monitors to hook up to, and a comfy couch for serious contemplation. It was such a popular spot that all four desks in The Quad were quickly reserved.

I’m so happy to be in the Cozy Quarters for a few weeks. It really is cozy!—Cohere Member Sara

Boomtown

Cohere also gained another room on the west side of the building and equipped it with the same sit-stand desks that can be found in The Quad. While Boomtown is lacking a comfy couch, it does come with a great deal of natural light. Not all of the desks in Boomtown are currently reserved, but there’s a good chance they will be soon!

If you are interested in reserving a desk in Boomtown, sign up for a tour of Cohere today.

Tomorrow we leave behind 2021, a year of variants, vaccines, resignations, and reorganization, and start our journey into 2022, whatever that may bring. The last two years have taught us that we have to be ready to shift at a moment’s notice, but it hasn’t been easy. Having a community of coworkers at your fingertips provides the guidance, motivation, and support you need so that you can not only survive 2022, but you can thrive—no matter what the world throws at you.
