Old Town Celebrations in Fort Collins—Back for 2022!

Fort Collins loves its events and celebrations. As a community, we look forward to our annual festivals and parades with anticipation and participate enthusiastically. Over the last two years, many of our favorite happenings were scaled back or cut out altogether, leaving the city events calendar looking a little sparse. Fortunately, in 2022 things seem to be picking up speed and the city events calendar is filling out nicely.

A few of the events, like the Old Town Car Show and the Fringe Festival, are still notably absent from the calendar, but several of Fort Collins’ most popular events in and around Old Town are returning for 2022. Here’s a rundown of what to expect!

April 15th sees the return of Project Homeless Connect, a one-day event designed to connect those who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness with the resources to change their situation. Along with free breakfast and lunch, nearly 40 non-profit organizations, government agencies, and businesses offer free services at the event, including car inspections, eye exams, and family photos. A Taste of Fort Collins

June 11 & 12
Washington Park, Fort Collins

A Taste of Fort Collins combines two of Fort Collins’ best features—delicious food and mind-blowing music. Food offerings range from a simple snack to a full meal, and there are plenty of vendor booths with merchandise and concessions for shopping. This family-friendly celebration is one of two celebrations on the list to have held an in-person event in 2021. Back again for 2022, headliners to accompany the many, many food trucks include rock band Collective Soul and rapper T.I. Food.

Tour de Fat

September 3, 2022
Downtown Fort Collins

Tour de Fat, a colorful costumed bike parade followed by a downtown festival, got its start in Fort Collins in 1999. The name is a nod to New Belgium Brewery’s flagship beer, Fat Tire Amber Ale, and the celebration afterward is a zany mix of bikes, beer, and bemusement. Specific details for 2022 haven’t yet been released, but in the past, the festival following the parade has been held at New Belgium’s Linden Street Brewery.

Tour de Corgi

October 3, 2022— 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Civic Center Park and Old Town Fort Collins

The Tour de Corgi is an event like no other. Dozens of costumed corgis descend on Civic Center Park in support of canine-centric charities 4 Paws Pet Pantry, Colorado Corgis and Friends Rescue, Wyoming Dachshund and Corgi Rescue, and Bandits BandAid. It starts with a corgi costume contest, followed by an adorable parade of long, low-slung dogs in colorful outfits. Although the event was canceled in 2020, they were able to put on a hybrid event in 2021, with the parade being held in person, but the costume contest on Instagram. This year, Tour de Corgi should be entirely in person.

Whether you delight in beer, bikes, music, or mutts, Old Town Fort Collins has a celebration for you!
