The Many Spaces of Cohere

Coworking spaces come in a number of different shapes and sizes, from traditional office building structures to former dairy bars. Cohere Coworking is housed in a unique building originally designed as an optometrist’s office in 1964. The three-story space has a fun and functional layout that strikes the perfect balance between connected and productive. There are single-person set-ups, groups of desks clustered together, bookable conference rooms, and even individual booths for phone calls.

Here’s a rundown of the many different spaces within Cohere where you can converse, collaborate, or concentrate, depending on your day.

Main Workspace

The main workspace at the top of the stairs is a bright, open space that is flooded with natural light during the daytime. There are several desks available in this space for those with flex memberships, or you can choose to claim one of them as your own on a month-to-month basis by reserving it. This is typically a quieter area to work in, and business calls are taken in one of the three phone rooms designated for that purpose.

Livingroom Lunch and Lounge

Our brightly lit living room area is frequently used for pot lucks, lunchtime lounging, and catching up during breaks. Many of our members also occasionally utilize this area as a workspace, either because they are feeling social, want to be closer to the coffee, or because they are simply seeking the comfort of a couch to work on. It can be exceptionally productive when you need a change of environment.

Corridor Cubbies

There are three single-person cubbies with privacy curtains lining the hallway. Other Coherians frequently walk by these cubbies but don’t typically disturb individuals behind curtains. That makes them fantastic little spots in which to field phone calls, get some concentrated work done, or attend an online meeting or conference.

Cozy Quad

The Cozy Quad is a comfy, basement-level office shared between four electronic sit/stand desks with dual monitors. Coworkers in this area can take calls and attend meetings at their desks without fear of interrupting anyone. All four desks in this desirable shared basement office are currently reserved.

Hobbiton

Hobbiton, once known as Boomtown, is one of our newer areas. This well-appointed office area off the foyer has two sit/stand desks with dual monitors, a few low built-in desks, and a peaceful mural—painted by our talented community manager, Ellen O’Neill. Like the Cozy Quad, both phone calls and online meetings are welcome in this area. The desks in this area can be reserved, but are frequently available for coworkers on a flex membership as well.

Conference Rooms

There are two conference rooms at Cohere, available to reserve on a per-hour basis. The smaller one, off the foyer before you get to Hobbiton, is a comfortable venue for 1-4 individuals. The larger conference room, in the basement area beyond the Cozy Quad, is a very popular space. We have social get-togethers, yoga classes, and meetings in the larger conference room. It also makes a great private space to take a meeting or get focused work done, and the addition of an audio/video set-up facilitates presentations. Cohere memberships come with a certain number of hours available to members at no additional cost.

No matter what your working style is, there is a spot at Cohere where you can be both wildly productive and wonderfully comfortable. Come find yours today!

PS… Private Offices

There are also several comfortable and in-demand private offices at Cohere. While these offices rarely come available, a new private office has recently been added to our space. It looks amazing!
