Cohere Coworking offers member benefits for the whole person, and we are always looking for new ways to support our community. When Carly Shields, a recent graduate of Zenver’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, contacted Cohere about starting yoga classes for members on a donation basis, it seemed like a natural opportunity to collaborate.
Collaboration is one of the five key values of coworking. Sign up for a tour of Cohere today, and learn more about our collaborative community.
The first yoga session at Cohere, held on February 3, was a great success. The sunlight that streamed in through a window and the peaceful music playing in the background gave the room a calm and relaxing energy.
Carly began the class with gentle breathing and grounding exercises. Everyone then moved on to a series of poses. The instructor mirrored each pose, including variations to increase or decrease the difficulty. By following her lead, members could easily customize their sessions to accommodate their skill and comfort levels. She finished the session by once again guiding members through gentle breathing exercises.
When and Where
Future yoga classes will be held every other Thursday at 11 am in the basement conference room of Cohere starting February 17th, with the exception of March 3rd. Carly opens the room about 15 minutes early to allow people to sign in and get settled in.
What to Bring
Participants should bring their own yoga mats to the session and wear comfortable clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Yoga is typically performed barefoot, but socks are welcome as well. You are also welcome to bring along a bottle of water to stay hydrated.
***This is a donation-based event with a suggested donation of $10-20 per session.
Future Thoughts
Depending on the level of interest, Cohere is open to adding more yoga sessions to the events calendar. There have even been casual discussions about adding a yoga session on the outside deck during the warmer summer months.
Cohere Coworking is a friendship-based coworking community situated in picturesque Old Town Fort Collins, within walking distance of a variety of delicious food options, fantastic local cafés, and Colorado State University.

Carly’s lunchtime yoga classes are well-suited for any skill level, from novice to advanced. Sessions offer members a fantastic way to take a break from their desks, improve their physical health, and be present for 45 minutes.
Spots are limited. Members who would like to participate can reserve their spot on the Cobot dashboard under the Events tab or talk to a staff member.
